World’s largest stop motion film

It’s 2:45 in the morning – what else to do but watch YouTube videos?

This is “Gulp,” a stop motion film created by Sumo Science at Aardman Animations (the Wallace and Gromit people) as part of an ad campaign for Nokia. What’s cool about it is that it’s the largest stop motion animation film – that’s a real boat they’re using!  They created the film using the Nokia N8′s 12 megapixel camera, mounted atop a cherry picker. The largest scene stretched a whopping 11,000 square feet. Below is a video that goes behind the scenes of how they made the animation on a South Wales beach – definitely worth a watch!

What I love about this video aside from it’s insane coolness is that it shows no matter how big an undertaking is, it can still be done. Just look what these people accomplished! Amazing.
